The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and the New York State Department of Transportation are working together to address the needs of our neighbors.
The goal of the QuieterHome Program is to make a noticeable
difference in the aircraft noise coming into homes near the airport. When the program is complete, eligible homeowners will be able to enjoy quieter living within their homes when doors and windows are closed. That means fewer interruptions while sleeping, watching television, talking on the telephone and interacting with family members.
Participants in the program will receive a choice of sound insulation treatments customized for their home. That can include new windows and doors, insulation, and improved air ventilation and air conditioning systems.
There is no out-of-pocket cost to homeowners for the materials or the labor to install the sound insulation treatments. The entire program is voluntary and is funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and the New York State Department of Transportation.
To make the entire experience as efficient and pleasant as possible, BNIA has contracted with C&S Companies, a nationally-respected company, to serve as project managers for the program. C&S Companies will oversee the specific design features and actual construction of the new customized sound insulation treatments.
